Within Localytics, we provide the ability for you to easily create custom redirect URLs that can be used for tracking the acquisition of new users. For more on custom redirect URLs, see Attribution Key Concepts. Note that Android and iOS have different attribution models and levels of support for redirect URLs.

Android: We recommend you create custom redirect URLs within the Localytics dashboard since it guarantees proper formatting and syntax. However, it is possible to generate Localytics-compliant redirect URLs outside of the URL-builder using an existing Localytics redirect URL as a template and manually modifying UTM data that would otherwise be entered via the builder. Once this "homemade redirect URL" is generated and clicked on by a new app user, the data will show up in Localytics as if it were generated using the builder.

iOS: Because of the way iOS handles attributions, you must create redirect URLs through the Localytics dashboard. This is because every redirect URL has a custom identifier that is used to unify data downstream.
