Rapid Push Verification Instructions
For the quickest way to find your specific customer ID, we recommend using our Rapid Push Verification tool in the Localytics dashboard. The Rapid Push Verification page can be found in your instance of Localytics in the "Settings" page. For instructions on using RPV, please consult this section of our User Guide. Alternatively, you still can use Charles Proxy to get the same results (and more). These instructions are outlined below:
Charles Proxy Instructions
In order to successfully find your customer ID, you must be set up to use Charles Proxy to see data as it gets passed from client to server. To set up Charles Proxy and connect your device, use these instructions from another Help article. Following that article will show you how to download Charles Proxy to see live data being collected by Localytics in raw form.
Once live data is being collected, a customer ID, either "known
" or "anonymous
," will be shown within the raw data. To learn more about customer ID, see this help article.
It is important to note that in the raw data, Customer ID is represented as "cid
" and falls immediately before the alphanumeric string. Before "cid
," there will be another field that classifies whether the ID is "known
" or "anonymous
". The graphic below shows where these fields are located. Other information has been hidden for privacy purposes.
