Global Events are an extension of App Groups that allows you to combine Events and Attributes from across apps. This way Events or Attributes that might be labeled differently across your apps can be matched to one another to improve your Workflow.
To create a Global Event, head to the Settings menu of your Localytics Dashboard ( ... > Settings). Choose Global Events from the top of the page.
Select Create new mapping and fill in a name for your Global Event. Click the Create Mapping button to head to the next step and begin building your Mapping.
Clicking Create new Global Event will open a new section where you'll be able to begin mapping events across apps. Click the Create Global Event button in the new section to select an app.
Find any app by typing its name or searching for it in the list.
After you've chosen an app, a drop-down menu will appear next to the app's name. Select the event you'd like to match from the drop-down menu. Continue adding apps and events until you've mapped everything you'd like to connect.
You can also add Attributes to your Global Events to enter users based on more granular behaviors
To create Global Attributes for your event, click on the Unmapped tab on the lower half of the Global Event creation menu. If you want to add to an already-created Global Event, click the name of the Global Event to open the edit menu.
Choose an appropriate attribute for each app in your Global Event that ought to be mapped together. Click on Map # Attributes (# will be the number of attributes) to map them and create a new Global Attribute.
You can review your Global Attribute on the Mapped tab and choose to Rename it or Unmap it by clicking the ellipsis next to the name.
Alternatively, you can add to an existing attribute. To do so, click on the ellipsis next to Attribute's name within the Unmapped tab. Using the search box, choose an existing Global Attribute to map this attribute to. Note that you can only map one attribute per app in your mapping.
Now that you've set up your App Groups, built your Global Events, it's time to build your first Workflow. Follow the guide here to get started.
