Flows is a feature in Localytics that allows you to see the general path your users have taken through your app. It's powered by Screens, an analytics feature.
To navigate to Flows simply select it from the sidebar (under Analytics).
Screen Flow Overview
At the very top of the page, you'll see the Screen Flow Overview. This is an interactive tool that allows you to see the paths users took as they navigated through your app. Click into any of the pathways to get a more detailed view.
You can view up to 5 screens deep.
Total Occurrences
Below the Screen Flow Overview, you'll see a list of a Total Occurrences. This is the list of all of the pages/screens in your app as recorded by the Screen feature. In the chart you'll see the screen name, the total number of views (Counts) and the percent of users to reached that point.
Click into any of the screen names to see the breakdown of where users went from this screen. On this page, you'll also see the total number of Sessions Lost Here as well as a list of Preceding Screens.
You can export this data to CSV for further manipulation by choosing Export to CSV.
Exits By Screen
Next to the Total Occurrences chart, you'll see a list of Exits By Screen. This is a list every screen recorded within your app where a user exited. You'll see the Screen name, the total number of users who exited there, and the percentage of exits that took place there.
Like the Total Occurrences, you can export this data for further analysis by selecting Export to CVS.
Ways to Use Flows
You can use the Flows report to leverage a few different types of data. Consider using it to look for instances where a screen has a large number of sessions that end abruptly. This is a good indication of friction in key flows.
You should also look for loops in common paths. If users have to move between two screens many times, invest in making the process faster.
